May 1 – June 26, 2011

Lately we’ve heard a lot about “cloud computing”. Basically it refers to resources that exist on a computer network, where they can be accessed on demand – now it’s just called “The Cloud”. It frees users from having to install software and maintain hardware, it’s more convenient than carrying around storage media, and it reduces costs. The principle behind it is that any computer connected to the internet is connected to the same pool of computing power, applications and files.
Many thousands of years before that cloud existed, there was another cloud. The bible refers to it as a “great cloud of witnesses” – basically those who had firsthand knowledge about living a life of faith and running the race marked out for us. And these who have gone before us make up a vast network that we can access, and receive wisdom and inspiration from. So instead of trying to do this thing called life on our own, maybe it’s time to run with the cloud.
